Pact Coffee is a UK-based company that sources speciality coffee from around the world while advocating for direct trade and sustainable farming practices within the coffee industry. As one of the largest independent roasteries in the UK, Pact Coffee is continuously improving its online digital product and sales through custom-built ecommerce solutions. The company has delivered over 21 million cups of high-quality coffee to customers.
Pact Coffee reached out to Yarilabs five years ago, seeking a proposal to help them deliver a new e-commerce platform and take ownership of their existing tech stack. The company runs custom software in various business areas, including e-commerce, Grindhouse automation and order management systems.
Pact Coffee's existing ecommerce platform needed a complete overhaul to improve performance, scalability and overall user experience. Additionally, the company required a new subscription engine, improvements to their grindhouse order management system and an improved orchestration system to manage their fleet of RaspberryPi devices used for automation at Grindhouse.

To address these challenges, Yarilabs took over Pact Coffee's tech team and comprehensively rebuilt its infrastructure.
It involved developing a new custom headless ecommerce solution with the frontend written in VueJS and NetlifyCMS and a new API and Back Office written in Ruby on Rails.
We've also improved their grindhouse order management system:
Additionally, we've worked with their data analytics and marketing teams to improve integrations with multiple third-party software and their data pipelines.
The first project was for the D2C area of the business, but we've also implemented changes on the platform to automate and accommodate B2B areas.
